How do I decide on the best form of help?

We have a range of services to meet most needs. If you’re not sure what would help most, please contact us for advice and support. We’re here to help, and by way of a free 15min orientation call. We will take a brief account of your needs, hopes and goals before guiding you as to who may be best placed to help.

Is this a psychological or physical health service?

Body and mind are interconnected, so we look after them both! We have expert practitioners who specialise in the field of emotional and psychological health (e.g. Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Hypnotherapists etc). We also have complimentray medicine experts (e.g. Ayurveda, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Reflexology, Acupucture and Cupping Therapy), together with holistic therapists (e.g. Reiki Healing, Meditation/Mindfulness, and Chi Yoga), as well other therapists who offer body treatments (e.g. Massage). We even offer Aesthetic and Skin Treatments, Ear Wax Removal and Micorblading, with the list of services always growing.

Can we see you on the NHS?

Unfortunately, we do not see clients on the NHS. We are an independant service who see clients on a fee paying basis, or via their private health insurance. In some cases we can offer reduced rates (e.g. students or those on low incomes). We do regularly offer charitable/free workshops and taster sessions, or those at very reduced costs. Just ask to be put on our newsletter circulation list, so that we can get in touch.

What are your fees?

It depends on who you are seeing. We have many practitioners offering different services, and they have their own fee structures. It is best to get in touch, and we can guide you from there. Many practitioners offer a sliding fee structure for students and those on low incomes. We also offer some reduced fee rates if you are willing to see a practitioner in training, under close supervision.

Do you work with my health insurance provider?

Our Psychologists, CBT therapists, Psychiatrists and some specialist Psychotherapists are registered with all major health insurance companies – for example, AXA PPP, Aviva, Vitality, BUPA, WPA, Healix, Prudential and so on. If not, we are usually able to register for membership. You will need to check with your insurer as to what kinds of treatments and services they cover, and also get an authorisation code from them.

Do you work with children and young people?

We have a number of practitioners who are experienced with CAMHS and School Based Counselling Services. Child Psychology, Child Counselling, Child Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy, Drama Therapy, Family Therapy and Young People’s Coaching are just some of the services we offer. We offer group based support, for example to learn stress management skills to cope during exam periods. Do you offer assesment of Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder – ADHD?

Yes, we offer a formal diagnostic assessment of ADHD. The assessment involves a thorough clinic interview and psychosocial/developmental history, together with detailed psychometric assessment that incorporates the views and observations of a parent/adult friend, teacher/employer as appropriate to the age of the index client. The assessment examines functioning that measures ADHD as per DSM-V criteria i.e. at the level of attention, hypermobility, impulsivity and difficulties with executive function. We also consider carefully the degree to which symptoms are pervasive across environments and settings. Our assessment considers whether symptoms may be explained by any other emotional or neurological difficulty, which is sometimes referred to as ‘differential assessment’. The assessment usually takes 3 visits in all to the clinic, inclusive of a feedback session and recommendations. A comprehensive written report is provided at the end..

Do you offer assessments of Autism Spectrum Disorder – ASD?

Yes – our approach is based on a gold standard of guidance in assessing ASD. We take a detailed developmental history and assess current symptoms from talking with the index client, but also family and professionals (e.g. a teacher for a school age child, or am employer for an adult). We focus on language and communication, social development and interaction, and any evidence of restricted/repetitive interests and behaviours. We use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), which consists of a series of structured and semi-structured tasks that involve social interaction between the examiner and the person under assessment. We hold a multi-disciplinary meeting to discuss assessment findings. This meeting is chaired by a Senior Consultant Psychologist & Neurodevelopmental Pathway Improvement Clinical Lead. Our final report establishes whether the symptom profile/observations meet the criteria for Autism based on the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders as compiled by the American Psychiatric Association).
