Experience and Skills

I have twenty-seven years of experience working in adult mental health and substance misuse services within the NHS, voluntary and private sector. I have a specialist interest in Recurring Depression and Anxiety Disorders such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I have also worked extensively with diverse
communities with complex mental health problems addressing social, cultural and language barriers to treatment using my multilingual skills in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. In addition to using Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I practice Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Mindfulness, Compassion and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) Psychology Degree
  • M.Ed. in Psychology and Education
  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (PGDip)
  • EMDR trained
  • Continuous Professional Development in Mindfulness, Compassion and Acceptance approaches and Trauma –focused therapies.

Professional Registrations

  • I am accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

Fees

  • From £70 per hour depending on complexity and need
  • Health insurance funding accepted – AXA PPP Health, WPA, BUPA, AVIVA and Vitality
