As a Psychologist, I have struggled to find affordable and warm consulting rooms for my private practice. Where rooms exist for rent, they are just not tailored for my needs. The chairs aren’t comfortable enough, the space is too much like an office, and you just can’t get past the clutter of unneeded furniture, instruments and ornaments! What more could I expect from rooms in dental surgeries, physiotherapy practices or commercial offices? Well, they served their purpose, but a new proposition was far overdue.
It’s been a long search trying to find just the right venue for the Solihull Well Being Clinic. Which locality? How much space? What about parking facilities? Too public? Too hidden away!
Finally, a chocolate maker in Hall Green put up his ‘for sale’ sign board. It felt right from the first visit. Three stories with good sized rooms, large windows, onsite parking and even an area we could transform into a reception. All that was left to ponder was whether to make some more ground floor consulting room space – and that decision was a ‘yes’ too – three more rooms in the making for those who have mobility issues, or just don’t like the idea of stairs.
The website soon followed, as did the linked social media channels. Friends and colleagues began to promote the new service. And the clinic was well on it’s way! Our first open day for therapists was a great success, with over 40 clinicians attending and sharing their positive feedback; “these rooms are perfect for what I do”; “you’ve thought of everything”; “it’s so wonderful to have a clinic like this, in such a central location” . Needless to say, we were flattered.
